Sedona is partnering with a food grade manufacturing company located in Dubuque, Iowa. As a Quality Control Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality control within the manufacturing facility. You will work closely with the production team to ensure that the company’s products meet or exceed all quality and safety standards. The successful candidate will be a detail-oriented, results-driven professional with a passion for maintaining the highest quality standards. There is one direct report (Quality Technician) to this role. The right fit candidate will be certified  Safe Quality Food practitioner and possess three or more years of professional working experience in a food-processing environment. This is a Direct Hire opportunity, meaning the best fit candidate will go directly onto the hiring company’s payroll and be eligible for company provided benefits day one.
 
What you get to do (in a snap-shot):
  • Supervise and lead the quality control team, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Develop and implement quality control procedures, biosecurity programs, and protocols.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of production processes and finished products to identify and rectify any quality issues.
  • Maintain and update quality control documentation, including records of inspections and tests.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including production, R&D, and supply chain, to ensure quality standards are met throughout the product life cycle.
  • Manage the calibration and maintenance of quality control equipment.
  • Oversee quality control (QC) programs and functions, including laboratory testing and quality systems.
  • Continuously strive for process improvements to enhance product quality and safety.
 
What we’d like you to bring to the opportunity:
  • Minimum of Associate’s degree in food science, Quality Management, or a related field preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) plus years of proven experience in quality control within the food industry. Supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of food safety standards, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to maintaining high standards of product quality.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
  • HACCP and SQF certification a plus.
  • Ability to work weekends and extended hours as necessary.
