WAGE: $20-$25/HOUR

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Welder to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for performing welding tasks ensuring all work is done safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform welding and fabrication on steel, aluminum, and other metals, ensuring proper joint fit-up and strong, quality welds.
  • Work on the construction, repair, and maintenance of barges and marine vessels, including hulls, decks, and structural components.
  • Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and technical drawings to determine welding requirements.
  • Operate welding equipment, including MIG, TIG, Stick, and gas welding tools.
  • Inspect completed welds for quality and accuracy, performing necessary rework or adjustments.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe work environment for yourself and others.
  • Assist in the preparation of materials and work surfaces, including cleaning, cutting, and grinding metal.
  • Troubleshoot and repair damaged metal components on barges and ships.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to company standards.
  • Work collaboratively with other welders, fabricators, and the engineering team to complete projects on time.
  • Adhere to company policies, maritime regulations, and safety standards.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, NCCER) is preferred.
  • Proven experience in welding, preferably in the marine or industrial sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of welding processes, techniques, and safety practices.
  • Experience working on metal fabrication and repairs, particularly on marine vessels and barges.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
  • Physically fit, with the ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work in varying weather conditions and irregular hours if needed.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience with underwater welding or cutting.
  • Familiarity with marine and safety regulations for working on ships and barges.
  • Forklift or crane operator certification.
