CUT-OFF OPERATOR
HOURS: 530AM- 3:30P MONDAY THRU THURS (POTENTIAL OVERTIME FRIDAY 5-6 HOURS)
LOCATION: GALENA, IL
WAGE: $17/HR
The Cut-Off Operator is responsible for setting up and operating cut-off saws or machines to cut raw materials according to production specifications. The role ensures accuracy, quality, and safety while maintaining production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate cut-off machines (manual or automated).
- Measure and cut materials (metal, plastic, tubing, etc.) to precise dimensions.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and production schedules.
- Perform routine machine adjustments and minor maintenance.
- Inspect finished pieces to ensure they meet quality standards.
- Monitor machine performance and report mechanical issues.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Record production data and material usage.
- Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience operating cutting or machining equipment preferred.
- Ability to read measuring tools (calipers, tape measures, micrometers).
- Basic math and measurement skills.
- Ability to read technical drawings and work instructions.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy materials.
- Knowledge of safety procedures and PPE use
