ACCOUNTING CLERK
Job Summary
Company is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Clerk to support daily financial operations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and assisting with general accounting tasks in a fast-paced recycling and materials environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
- Prepare and post invoices, payments, and journal entries
- Reconcile bank statements and customer/vendor accounts
- Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems
- Assist with payroll processing and time tracking (if applicable)
- Support month-end and year-end closing procedures
- Communicate with customers and vendors regarding billing and payment inquiries
- Generate financial reports and assist management with data analysis
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in accounting or related field preferred
- 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or clerical experience
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities
