INSURANCE ADMIN ASSISTANT
DIRECT HIRE: $18-$19/HOUR
LOCATION: DUBUQUE, IA
Job Summary:
The Insurance Assistant is responsible for supporting insurance agents and clients by performing various administrative and clerical tasks. This position requires attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Support:
- Answer inquiries via phone, email, or in-person from clients regarding insurance policies, claims, and coverage options.
- Assist clients with policy renewals, amendments, and cancellations.
- Provide basic information on insurance products and services.
- Policy Management:
- Assist in the creation and maintenance of insurance policies, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Prepare and review policy documents for accuracy before issuing.
- Assist with the preparation of policy renewal notices and communication with clients.
- Claims Assistance:
- Help process and track insurance claims, ensuring proper documentation is submitted.
- Communicate with clients and adjusters to gather information for claim processing.
- Follow up with clients to ensure claims are resolved in a timely manner.
- Administrative Support:
- Maintain accurate and organized client records and files (physical and digital).
- Process payments, endorsements, and cancellations.
- Prepare reports as needed for insurance agents or managers.
- Data Entry:
- Input and update client information into the company’s system, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain records of policies, claims, and other documentation.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with insurance agents, brokers, and adjusters to ensure efficient service delivery.
- Assist in training new staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (some positions may require an associate's degree).
- Experience:
- Previous experience in an administrative or customer service role is preferred, ideally within the insurance industry.
- Skills:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency with office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, CRM systems).
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Ability to handle confidential information in a professional manner.
- Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of insurance terms, policies, and procedures is a plus.
- Familiarity with insurance software and claim processing systems is desirable.
