MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN
WAGE: $20-$22/HOUR
SHIFT: 1ST SHIFT
 
  • Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Forklift and Machine Maintenance Technician to ensure the proper functioning of all forklifts and machinery used in our facility. The ideal candidate will perform regular maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure that equipment is safe and operational for daily use. This role requires hands-on expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a proactive approach to equipment upkeep.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Forklift Maintenance:

      • Perform regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on forklifts.

      • Troubleshoot and diagnose forklift issues, including engine, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

      • Ensure forklifts are in compliance with safety standards and regulations.

      • Replace parts as needed (e.g., tires, filters, belts).

      • Maintain records of maintenance and repairs conducted on each forklift.

    • Machine Maintenance:

      • Conduct routine checks on all machinery to ensure proper operation and safety compliance.

      • Perform repairs and maintenance on a variety of machines, including conveyor systems, packaging equipment, and other heavy machinery.

      • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify and resolve issues quickly.

      • Replace worn or damaged parts such as bearings, seals, belts, and other mechanical components.

    • Safety Compliance:

      • Follow all safety protocols and procedures while working on forklifts and machinery.

      • Ensure that safety equipment is properly maintained and operational.

      • Conduct safety inspections to ensure that machinery and equipment meet company and regulatory standards.

      • Assist in training team members on the safe operation of forklifts and machinery.

    • Documentation and Reporting:

      • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory.

      • Prepare reports on equipment performance, maintenance schedules, and any issues that arise.

      • Report major mechanical failures to management and recommend improvements.

    • Inventory and Parts Management:

      • Assist in maintaining an inventory of spare parts, tools, and maintenance supplies.

      • Order new parts as needed and maintain effective communication with vendors.

  • Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent (technical certification or degree in a related field preferred).

    • Proven experience with forklift maintenance and machine repair (at least 2-3 years preferred).

    • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints.

    • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations related to forklifts and heavy machinery.

    • Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

    • Strong communication and organizational skills.

    • Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy parts and tools.
