Painter (Historical and Commercial Projects)

$23 - $28 / hour

Seeking a skilled Painter to join a team, to specialize in both historical preservation projects and commercial painting services. The ideal candidate will have experience working on interior and exterior painting assignments. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to the restoration and beautification of iconic structures while also painting new commercial building spaces and buildings in the Dubuque area. This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning the right fit candidate will go directly onto the hiring company’s payroll and be eligible for their benefits package.
What you get to do (in a snap-shot):
- Prepare surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary.
- Apply paint, stain, and other finishes to interior and exterior surfaces of historical and commercial buildings.
- Utilize appropriate techniques to ensure the preservation of historical elements and architectural integrity. Protects equipment, furniture and floors by placing drop cloths.
- Work efficiently and effectively to meet project deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other team members to ensure successful project completion.
- Follow safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
What we’d like you to bring to the opportunity:
- Knowledge and working experience of related tools / equipment / materials used and painting techniques.
- Ability to write simple correspondence and ability to speak in one-on-one / small group setting to other employees and residents of the organization.
- Valid Driver’s license, ability to pass a background and drug screening.
- High school diploma or GED
