Store Layout & Design Manager

Position Overview
The Store Layout & Design Manager leads the planning, design, and optimization of retail store layouts to deliver efficient operations and an exceptional customer experience. This hands-on role blends creative design with project management and technology implementation. The ideal candidate combines strong visual, analytical, and leadership skills to support both new and existing store environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain floor plans, fixture layouts, and planograms aligned with merchandising and operational goals.
- Lead design planning for new stores, remodels, relocations, and resets.
- Collaborate with Construction, Merchandising, and Operations to ensure accuracy and timely project completion.
- Evaluate and implement software tools to enhance design efficiency and data accuracy.
- Analyze store performance and space productivity to drive continuous improvement.
- Coach and develop team members to strengthen technical and design capabilities.
- Maintain brand, ADA, and safety standards across all store layouts.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Interior Design, Architecture, Retail Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years of experience in retail design, store planning, or space management.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD or Revit; experience with planogram or space planning software (e.g., Blue Yonder, Relex, SmartDraw).
- Strong project management, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proven leadership experience and ability to collaborate across departments.
- Solid understanding of retail operations, P&L concepts, and merchandising processes.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; database experience preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- High integrity and professionalism when handling confidential information.
- Basic knowledge of construction or fixture installation a plus.
Work Environment
- Primarily office-based with occasional store visits; some travel required.
- Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods; occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.
- May require occasional weekend or extended hours based on project timelines.
