DIE SETTER
LOCATION: PEOSTA, IA
SHIFT: 2ND SHIFT, 3:30PM-2AM MONDAY THRU THURS
WAGE: $20-$23/HR
Position Summary
The Die Setter is responsible for installing, aligning, and maintaining dies in stamping presses or other machinery to ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality production.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and install dies in presses according to job specifications
- Align and secure dies using precision measuring tools
- Perform changeovers quickly to minimize downtime
- Adjust press settings (pressure, stroke, speed) for optimal performance
- Inspect parts during setup to ensure quality standards are met
- Troubleshoot die or press issues during production
- Perform routine maintenance on dies and equipment
- Work closely with operators, supervisors, and maintenance teams
- Follow all safety procedures and OSHA guidelines
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with metal stamping, tooling, or die setting
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of press operations (mechanical or hydraulic)
- Familiarity with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and stand for long periods
