Licensed Electrician – Manufacturing
Shift: 1st shift
Direct Hire
Wage: $45-$55/hour
Location: Green County, WI area
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot plant-wide electrical systems, including 3-phase power distribution and motor control centers (MCCs).
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on high-speed manufacturing and packaging equipment.
- Ensure all electrical work complies with NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA regulations, and food manufacturing standards.
- Perform electrical load calculations, short-circuit analysis, and circuit protection evaluations.
- Support the programming, troubleshooting, and optimization of PLCs, VFDs, and automated control systems.
- Lead electrical aspects of equipment installations, facility upgrades, and capital improvement projects.
- Collaborate with Production, Quality Assurance, and Sanitation teams to minimize downtime and maintain food safety requirements.
- Conduct root cause investigations for electrical failures and implement effective corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate documentation including schematics, electrical drawings, preventive maintenance records, and panel schedules.
- Oversee electrical infrastructure such as backup generators, UPS systems, lighting systems, and distribution equipment.
- Promote compliance with food industry electrical practices, including hygienic installations and sanitary design requirements.
- Enforce Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), arc flash safety procedures, and electrical safe work practices throughout the facility.
Qualifications
Required
- Valid Master Electrician License.
- Minimum 7 years of industrial electrical experience.
- At least 3 years of experience in a food manufacturing, beverage, dairy, or other sanitary production environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical theory, NEC, NFPA 70E, OSHA requirements, and food safety regulations.
- Experience working with 480V three-phase systems, MCCs, motor controls, and industrial electrical distribution.
- Ability to read, interpret, and update electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, and ladder logic drawings.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and technical documentation skills.
Preferred
- Experience programming and troubleshooting PLCs, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
- Familiarity with industrial networking and control system integration.
- Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, and food safety programs as they relate to electrical maintenance.
- Experience with sanitary electrical installations, including stainless-steel enclosures and sealed conduit systems.
- Familiarity with food processing equipment such as conveyors, fillers, weighers, and CIP systems.
