MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN- MANUFACTURING
TYPE: DIRECT HIRE
WAGE: $25-38/HOUR
  • 1st shift: 1st 7:00am – 3:30pm and  8:00am -5:30p M-Th, overtime as needed on Fridays
  • 2nd shift: 4:00pm-2:30am M-Th, overtime as needed on Fridays 
Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician ensures that all equipment, machinery, and systems in a food manufacturing facility are running efficiently and safely. This role involves performing regular inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on production lines and supporting equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance (PM) on production equipment, including mixers, ovens, conveyors, packaging machines, and refrigeration units
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment to minimize downtime
  • Monitor machinery for any signs of wear or malfunction and take immediate corrective actions.
  • Respond to emergency breakdowns and document repairs, parts used, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, OSHA, GMP, and company standards during all maintenance work.
  • Support audits, inspections, equipment calibration, and facility safety.
  • Maintain spare parts and tool inventory; order materials as needed.
  • Identify and implement process improvements through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Complete maintenance logs and required compliance documentation.
  • Coordinate with production, engineering, and maintenance teams to schedule work with minimal operational impact.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in food manufacturing or similar industrial settings.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, GMP, and safety standards in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers) and automation systems.
  • Familiarity with food production equipment (mixers, conveyors, packaging systems, ovens, etc.).
  • Ability to read technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs pounds as well as stand, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment.
