A locally owned and operated Dubuque, IA manufacturer is seeking a skilled Machine Diesel Maintenance Technician to join their team. As a Machine Diesel Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of diesel-powered machinery and equipment. This role is crucial to ensuring the hiring company’s production processes run smoothly and efficiently. This is a direct hire opportunity, meaning the right fit candidate will go directly onto the hiring company’s payroll and be eligible for their benefits package.
What you get to do (in a snap-shot):
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines and related machinery.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic issues.
- Conduct preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance and repair work.
- Collaborate with the production team to identify and resolve equipment issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Operate diagnostic tools and equipment to identify issues.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs during machine service.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
What we’d like you to bring to the opportunity:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in diesel mechanics / auto mechanics or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in diesel maintenance and repair.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine components and systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
