Job Summary
We are seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to develop, test, and improve electrical systems for industrial equipment. This hands-on role involves managing projects from initial design through production launch, building prototypes, troubleshooting, and ensuring products meet safety and certification standards. Direct Hire Opportunity: The selected candidate will be hired directly onto the hiring company's payroll from day one and be eligible for their company provided benefits.
Responsibilities
- Design, modify, and release wiring diagrams, bills of materials (BOMs), and testing procedures.
- Manage engineering projects from concept and prototyping through testing and production launch.
- Identify, source, and specify electrical components.
- Support prototype builds, testing, troubleshooting, and product improvements.
- Work with purchasing, suppliers, customers, and cross-functional engineering teams.
- Develop and modify PLC control programs using manufacturer software.
- Research alternative components and processes to improve quality and reduce costs.
- Conduct certification testing and maintain compliance documentation.
- Support certification audits and participate in technical standards committees.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 2–5 years of experience in electrical design or industrial product development preferred.
- Knowledge of electrical components and their applications.
- Familiarity with UL and CSA standards preferred.
- Experience creating and modifying wiring diagrams using AutoCAD.
- Ability to use electrical testing equipment, including multimeters.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
