SHIFT: 1ST SHIFT
LOCATION: FARLEY, IA
WAGE: $25/HR
 
Job Summary
 The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment, machinery, and facility systems to help keep production running safely and efficiently.

Essential Duties
  • Perform preventive and routine maintenance on production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems.
  • Repair or replace worn or damaged components.
  • Perform basic welding, fabrication, and machine repairs as needed.
  • Inspect equipment and identify potential maintenance issues before breakdowns occur.
  • Assist with installation, setup, and adjustment of new or existing equipment.
  • Maintain and repair facility systems, including lighting, doors, plumbing, and other general building equipment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and other maintenance equipment safely.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records.
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and production maintenance requests.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Keep the maintenance area, tools, and equipment clean and organized.
  • Work with production and other departments to minimize equipment downtime.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous manufacturing or maintenance experience preferred.
  • Basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read basic schematics, drawings, and equipment manuals.
  • Comfortable using common hand and power tools.
  • Basic welding or fabrication experience is a plus.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Willingness to learn new equipment and maintenance procedures.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move maintenance parts and equipment as required.
  • Ability to work around manufacturing machinery, noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
