Production Packager
Wage: $20.85/hr
Schedule: 1st shift, 6am-6pm Mon-Thursday (may include OT)
Location: Luana IA
Job Summary: The Packager is responsible for preparing, packaging, labeling, and inspecting dairy products to ensure they meet company quality and food-safety standards. Employees work as part of a production team in a fast-paced environment and help make sure products are properly packaged and ready for distribution to customers and retailers.
Responsibilities
- Operate, monitor, and adjust packaging machinery as needed.
- Package dairy products according to company specifications.
- Inspect containers, labels, seals, and finished products for defects.
- Ensure products are properly labeled, dated, and packaged.
- Load and unload packaging materials and supplies.
- Monitor production lines and report equipment or product problems to supervisors.
- Perform basic cleaning and routine equipment checks.
- Follow production schedules and meet daily production goals.
- Assist with other production duties when needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous packaging, manufacturing, warehouse, or food-production experience is helpful.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods.
- Ability to safely lift and move materials within the requirements of the position.
- Willingness to follow strict food-safety and sanitation standards.
