CLINICAL CONTENT WRITER
CONTRACT: 1ST SHIFT, REMOTE
Summary: The Clinical Content Writer develops and updates the clinical content of InterQual’s Clinical Products. Using medical literature review, synthesis of clinical information and data analysis and in collaboration with external clinical specialty consultants, the role ensures the clinical content represents critically appraised evidence; meets best practice standards; and will meet requirements for different users, applications and contexts. The Clinical Content Contractor is also responsible for quality assurance (QA) of the content and for responding to internal and external client questions and concerns. Job Responsibilities: • Design, develop, and update clinical content and rules through the synthesis of information gathered from medical literature review, guideline review, structured Internet searches, consultant feedback, and client feedback. • Define and use Evidence Based Alerting service and deep dive literature searches as the basis for the content changes • Work in collaboration with development resources (medical editor and content technicians) to incorporate these content development resources into the content development process to maximize quality and work output • Perform Quality Assurance of clinical content and create and maintain clinical documentation, as required. • Collaborates with other InterQual content teams to deliver new and updated content development to ensure consistency across the InterQual suite. • Participates in other projects as assigned which may include managed care market analysis, data review and analysis, and other projects as assigned. • Participates in other projects as assigned which may include managed care market analysis, data review and analysis, and other projects as assigned. Skills: • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills. • Must possess problem-solving and critical thinking skills; ability to step through logical pathways to determine results. • Must be results oriented; effective as both a team member and independent worker with attention to detail and ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. • Must have solid clinical experience in varied clinical practice settings • Must have demonstrated proficiency with various software applications, including but not limited to: MS Outlook, MS Word. • Research and Evidence Based Medicine (EBM) knowledge or experience highly desirable. • Writing experience highly desirable. • Project management skills desirable. • Knowledge of medical coding schemes desirable. • Knowledge of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint desirable. • Basic understanding of software development phases/life cycles desirable. Education/Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred, other allied health education and training will be considered • Nursing license required. • 5-7 years experience in a clinical nursing position or equivalent if non-R.N.
