As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of motors / engines and equipment. Your primary focus will be on ensuring the proper functioning and reliability of various mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems on vessels. This opportunity requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This is a direct hire opportunity. Meaning, the right fit candidate will go directly onto the hiring company’s payroll and receive full benefits.
 
What you get to do (in a snap-shot):
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on marine vessels, including inspections, lubrication, and fluid changes.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues in marine engines, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve problems with navigation systems, communication equipment, and electrical controls.
  • Install, repair, and maintain marine components and systems such as pumps, valves, generators, and steering systems.
  • Conduct inspections and tests to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, labor hours, and work performed.
  • Collaborate with other team members to diagnose complex issues and develop effective solutions.
 
What we’d like you to bring to the opportunity:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in marine mechanics is preferred.
  • 1+ years of proven experience as Service Technician or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of systems, including engines, propulsion systems, electrical systems, and navigation equipment.
  • Experience using diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
  • Solid understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to marine operations.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Solid communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
