Our client is a global leader in engineered materials to power, protect and connect our world. They need a Director of Global Supply Chain to join their management team at corporate headquarters in Arizona.
The Lean Director will define and implement a lean management practice as part of the overall Operating System. The Lean Director will facilitate and deliver complex business improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma techniques to achieve long-term business strategies and develop a Lean culture across the business. The Lean Director will lead continuous improvement and efficiency projects across the Corporation on products, systems, operations and processes.
What You Get To Do:
Lead roll-out of Lean Management principles and the corporate operating system.
Implement strategies to develop and strengthen a lean enterprise culture in alignment with corporate goals and priorities.
Support development and implementation of BU/function improvement and innovation initiatives through workshops, training, coaching that teach and practice lean principles, methods and tools.
Facilitate and oversee planning, development, and implementation of waste reduction (i.e. LEAN) initiatives through formal Continuous Improvement (Kaizen) events.
Report on progress of projects understanding risks, dependencies, budgets, resourcing, issues, critical milestones and action to ensure success.
Drive a LEAN culture throughout the corporation – promoting, encouraging and initiating.
Employ the use of LEAN tools and methodologies to drive improvement initiatives. Develop training materials pertaining to LEAN methodologies. Create and implement a LEAN learning program including a progressive training curriculum.
What We Need From You:
BS degree in Business or Engineering a must, prefer Masters or MBA
8 + years’ experience leading large, cross-functional, complex projects for a global organization
Managed business processes and business process improvement initiatives
Implemented Lean Management practices for a business unit and/or function
Applied Lean/Six Sigma tools to improve and re-engineer processes
Ability to coach, counsel and develop people a must
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; strong organizational skills a must
Must be action and results oriented, with excellent verbal, written and presentation skills
Lean Master and/or Black Belt certification required
Expert process mapping and Visio skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio)
Travel 25% domestic and international
