MEDICAL BILLING CHARGE MASTER SPECIALIST
CONTRACT: HYBRID- COMBO ONSITE AND REMOTE
Responsible for the 1st stage build, implementation and maintenance of the Charge Description Master (CDM) module within the Epic Resolute Hospital Billing application.
Works with PFS leadership to develop system-wide CDM integration and standardization between hospital CDM master files. Responsible for the 1st stage build, 1st stage testing, implementation and maintenance of the Bed Charge Billing file within Epic.
Works with department managers regarding charge structure development and compliance needs. Implements 1st stage additions, deletions and revisions to comply with department manager requests and to ensure billing integrity.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing regulation and requirements for other government and contracted payers. Participates in annual CMS CPT/HCPCS Final Rule update projects. Implements related changes within the consolidated CDM.
Review current process flows and make recommendations for enhancements. Establish change management process for the system as they relate to CDM maintenance.
Responsible for implementing strategic pricing initiatives. Participates in strategic pricing projects providing recommendations related to yearly project goals.
Work with project leadership to assess appropriate implementation strategies and the impact those strategies will have on CDM maintenance workflow. Responsible for timely updates to project leadership regarding timeline and status of assigned tasks. Participate in project meetings as appropriate.
Acts as liaison between the CDM build team, operational stakeholders, Epic technical resources, and PFS leadership related to build decisions. Acts as liaison between CDM software vendor and the organization. Responsible for maintaining accurate licensing control.
Responsible for completing necessary actions to clear CDM related work queue errors and maintain at established level.
Responsible to write CDM build and maintenance procedures and documentation.
Participates in training and problem identification/resolution with end users.
Three to five years of experience in hospital or healthcare revenue cycle is required.
Experience in application/module build and maintenance is required.
CDM build/maintenance experience is preferred.
Medicare RBRVS and Physician revenue cycle analysis is also preferred.
Knowledgeable (technically and functionally) in the Epic Resolute Hospital and Professional Charge Capture and CDM module.
Demonstrated module design and implementation skills.
Strong process design and improvement experience.
Ability to lead meetings, prioritize, resolve conflicts, and maintain issues lists.
Effective oral and written communication.
Strong time management skills.
Experience using Microsoft Office applications.
Advanced Microsoft Excel and Access capabilities.
Strong customer service skills.
Self-motivated and detail-oriented with ability to research needs for system build and maintenance.
