Production Animal Director of Clinical Technology
Location: Kansas, USA
Compensation: Competitive based on skill set and experience
Seeking a PhD and/or DVM to be the technical lead of a dynamic team in a position that will blend clinical science with market-leading digital technologies in the agricultural industry. This position will be focused on leading the hiring company’s clinical endeavors in the dairy market as well as being on the leadership team of their digital technology group. The right fit candidate will have proven success and experience in clinical trial design, management and a solid understanding and ability to partner with Dairy producers. You should also possess an analytical personality that drivers your desire to use data to find and solve issues and be generally curious to find and adapt new technologies that will play a role in the changing the industry.
What you get to do:
Clinical Trial Leadership: Lead the design and execution of clinical trials.
Develop and conduct staff product, clinical and training.
Provide on farm technical services support on a range of Dairy operations
Provide internal staff and external customer training – Traveling regularly US-wide to further educate, discover and apply solutions to the dairy challenges in today’s markets.
Attend industry event as required such as DCRC, AABP and ADSA
What we need from you:
Minimum 5 years of consulting or extension experience as a DVM on a range of Dairy operations
Education requirement: PhD and or DVM
Strong understanding of Dairy farm management under different farming systems US-wide
Excellent communications skills, written and oral. Fluent in Spanish is desirable but not essential.
Experienced in disease diagnosis, triage and treatment protocols in particular with transition cow management.
Good understanding of the on-farm medication management process and regulatory requirements for food safety
Travel: 30 – 40%
