Sedona Staffing Services is partnering with a privately owned long term care facility located in the Cascade, IA area seeking a Director of Nursing The right fit will oversee and coordinate a team of healthcare professionals and oversee health care coordination for the residents. This position requires being on call and filling in as floor staff as needed.
What you get to do:
Management in scheduling of health care providing team members.
Coordinate and present in-services for staff.
Complete 90-day and annual reviews of the nursing staff and healthcare staff.
Maintain adequate nursing staff with the assistance of the Manager, by recruiting, hiring, terminating, and supervising all on-site staff, according to their individual job descriptions, along with supervisors.
Assure that training of each healthcare staff team member is done thoroughly and completely in the required time frame, in his/her duties and in the Policies and Procedures, as they relate to their position.
Participate in the team meetings, including safety and quality care as assigned.
Review and follow up on all incident reports.
Be compassionate towards all customers and lead a positive culture.
Responsible for communicating effectively with the hospitals, doctors and families of any health concerns.
Responsible for overseeing all medication reminders and administration.
Responsible for completion of initial, subsequent, and COC assessments and service plans for all current and prospective residents as required by company policies and DIA.
Be responsible for documenting residents’ health concerns in Nurse’s Notes.
Train on use of personal protective equipment, as required, and monitor staff for appropriate usage.
Assure that appropriate medical information and change in cares is relayed between shifts.
Uphold confidentiality and Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
Maintain and follow the nursing budget, including nursing care staff and their hours.
Maintain working inventory of nursing equipment and supplies and perform annual inventory of all items related to health care.
What we need from you:
Graduate of NLN accredited college or school of nursing.
Current RN license to practice in the State of Iowa.
2 years’ health care coordinating experience in retirement communities
Must have current or previous experience managing care staff.
Ability to assist with lifting up to 50 pounds.
