EHS Specialist 

Job Type: Full-time
Location: Green County WI
Salary: $70,000 per year

Summary: A local employer is seeking an experienced EHS professional to drive compliance, strengthen safety culture, and support continuous improvement in a hands-on, high-impact role. This position is well suited for candidates with a background in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field, or those who hold a CSP or CIH certification.

Key Responsibility: Health & Safety Compliance
Maintain and update all programs and documentation within the company’s safety and health program, including OSHA-required elements such as:
o Hazard Communication (HazCom)
o Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
o Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
o Emergency Action Plans (EAP)
o Bloodborne Pathogens
o Hearing Conservation Program
  • Ensure Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to employees in a language they understand
  • Lead and document workplace safety inspections, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses
  • Investigate incidents, injuries, and near misses and identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
  • Monitor safety training compliance and coordinate with Training & Development to ensure regulatory requirements are met
  • Maintain and post OSHA logs (300, 300A) as required
  • Serve as the primary contact during OSHA inspections or audits; lead internal audit readiness efforts
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related discipline, or CSP/CIH certification
  • Minimum of 5 years of EHS experience within manufacturing, food production, or a similar industrial setting
  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and established safety best practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to train and influence employees at all levels
  • Proven ability to perform root cause analysis and ensure completion of corrective and preventive actions
  • Proficient in MS Office and experience with safety management systems
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish 
  • OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification
