Position Summary:
Fabrication Set Up Operators
16.50/hr
1st shift
This position is responsible for setting up and operating complex fabricated parts on all standard company fabrication equipment. This position works directly with the fabrication lead and Supervisor to maintain proper equipment set-ups, PM schedules, and employee training.
Essential Functions:
- Set-up and program all company fabrication equipment, including any available software.
- Set-up and program all press brakes thru associated software. Make adjustments as required during production.
- Demonstrate proper operation of jobs to assigned employees after job set-up.
- Read and interpret technical drawings to set-up jobs per specification.
- Use micrometers, calipers, and other available tools to ensure product is within tolerance.
- Operate HMI on machine controller.
- Program new jobs into machine controller.
- Performs quality checks and in-process monitoring.
- Safely operate forklift and any other authorized power equipment.
- Performs preventative maintenance tasks by working with assigned employees.
- Routinely review set-ups to determine tooling condition.
- Maintain accurate records of material consumption and WIP.
- Process material per work order.

- Perform additional duties as deemed appropriate by the supervisor of this position.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Certified to operate forklift.
- Ability to read and interpret prints
- Ability to do extensive set-ups on various fabrication equipment.
- Read and Interpret technical drawings
- Capable to identify and use correct tooling for jobs.
- Read measurements to 1/32” with a tape measure.
- Read calipers and micrometers.
- Read angle gauge
- Adherence to all safety requirements required within this work area
- Attain basic product line knowledge
- Understanding and ability to use computer systems
- Able to work with a team and independently
- Have advanced mathematical skills
- Possess a strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills
- Promote a Safe Work Environment
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Minimum Required Experience or Education:
- High School diploma or equivalent vocational school
- Minimum 4-6 years’ experience working in a manufacturing setting or fabrication specific vocational training.
Preference to prior machinery set-up experience.
