RECEPTIONIST:
HOURS: OPENING AND MID-SHIFT UP TO 35 HOURS
LOCATION: DUBUQUE, IA
WAGE: $13/HOUR
The Receptionist is responsible for managing customer service and administrative duties, including answering phone calls, booking appointments, handling inquiries, and ensuring the salon’s day-to-day operations run smoothly. The receptionist is also responsible for maintaining a welcoming atmosphere for clients and supporting the salon team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service:
- Greet clients upon arrival, provide excellent customer service, and ensure they feel welcome.
- Address client inquiries and assist with product and service information.
- Help clients with scheduling, rescheduling, or canceling appointments.
- Manage waiting times and keep clients informed about any delays.
- Appointment Management:
- Answer phone calls and emails to book, modify, or cancel appointments.
- Maintain an organized appointment calendar, ensuring all booking details are accurate.
- Confirm appointments with clients ahead of time, reducing no-shows.
- Assist in managing stylist or beautician schedules.
- Administrative Tasks:
- Handle payments, process transactions, and manage point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Maintain records of client visits, preferences, and special requests.
- Prepare and organize client forms, service logs, and other necessary documents.
- Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of the reception area.
- Support for Salon Team:
- Provide general administrative support to stylists, colorists, and salon management.
- Ensure necessary supplies and equipment are stocked and ready for use.
- Assist with inventory management, restocking products when needed.
- Marketing & Promotion:
- Help promote salon services and products to clients.
- Encourage clients to book future appointments or sign up for loyalty programs.
- Assist in distributing promotional materials or managing social media campaigns.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Communication Skills: Must have excellent verbal communication skills to interact with clients, staff, and vendors.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a busy environment.
- Customer Service: Strong customer service skills with a friendly, approachable attitude.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with booking systems, POS systems, and basic computer programs (e.g., Microsoft Office, email, etc.).
- Detail-Oriented: Accuracy in handling appointments, payments, and client records.
- Experience: Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role (preferably in the beauty or salon industry) is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to lift and carry light supplies and materials.
