Job Overview:
The Warehouse Receiver is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording products delivered to the warehouse. This role ensures accurate inventory tracking, proper product handling, and efficient storage. The Warehouse Receiver works closely with warehouse staff, inventory management, and procurement teams to ensure that deliveries are processed in a timely and accurate manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving Shipments:
Receive, unload, and inspect incoming shipments from vendors, suppliers, and carriers, ensuring that the products match the purchase orders and delivery notes. - Quality Control:
Verify product quality, quantity, and condition, checking for any damages, discrepancies, or defects before signing off on receipts. - Inventory Management:
Accurately log incoming stock into inventory management systems, ensuring all records are up-to-date and accurate. - Product Organization:
Label, categorize, and store goods in the appropriate locations within the warehouse. Ensure proper stock rotation to minimize damage or expiration. - Documentation and Reporting:
Prepare receiving reports, and update the inventory system, documenting any issues (e.g., missing items, damaged goods). Communicate discrepancies to the purchasing department or management. - Collaboration:
Work with other warehouse staff and departments to facilitate smooth and efficient operations, ensuring product movement, storage, and tracking. - Safety and Compliance:
Follow all safety protocols and company policies, including proper lifting techniques, use of equipment, and safe storage practices. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. - Equipment Handling:
Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment to unload goods and move stock. - Maintain Cleanliness:
Keep the receiving area clean, organized, and free from hazards. Conduct regular checks on safety equipment and storage spaces.
Qualifications:
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications (e.g., forklift operation) preferred. - Experience:
Prior experience in a warehouse, inventory, or receiving role is a plus. - Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills (familiarity with inventory management software preferred).
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs).
- Familiarity with warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.).
- Basic math skills for counting and inventory tracking
