We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Technician in Shell Rock, Iowa. The basic purpose of this position is to maintain all aspects of plant equipment, conducting preventive maintenance and repairs, and performing varied maintenance duties necessary to ensure continuous operation of the production facilities.
Reads and interprets equipment manuals, work orders, blueprints, building drawings, and electrical schematics to perform required maintenance and service.
Inspects, diagnoses, and troubleshoots plant equipment/system problems.
Performs advanced mechanic skills including, but not limited to, welding, cutting, lubrication, repair power transmission equipment, millwrighting, pneumatics, hydraulics, rigging, and electrical skills to troubleshoot and repair plant equipment/systems as needed.
Provides scheduled and emergency/unscheduled repairs of plant equipment/systems.
Communicates with others internal and external to the organization to obtain/provide information regarding equipment/system issues as needed.
Performs preventive maintenance inspections and performs or recommends repairs.
May be required to fill in for group leader or supervisor during vacations or absences.
Assumes a leadership role by promoting a positive work environment/attitude.
Required to complete simple and emergency work orders.
Required to utilize established company computer systems to find repairable spares, inventory items, complete timecard entries and sign out parts.
Ability to read and understand equipment drawings and blueprints.
Assists in troubleshooting equipment problems and finding root cause of failure.
Qualifications and Experience:
The requirements listed in the sections that follow are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required to perform the duties of this job.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
At least 2-4 years’ experience maintaining industrial equipment.
Knowledge of millwright, welding, industrial electrical systems, lock-out tag out required.
Experience with bulk/powder handling equipment a plus.
Experience maintaining dilute and dense phase pneumatic conveying systems a plus.
Ability to troubleshoot, determine requirements to repair, and source repair items.

Working Conditions: Manufacturing setting – warehouse, production facility, office.
Work Hours: Must have ability to work the shift/number of hours in which duties need to be accomplished, including overtime. Typical hours will be Monday through Friday and some Saturdays, 1 st shift.
