CONTRACT: 5AM - 130PM M-F PLUS EVERY OTHER WEEKEND AND ROTATING HOLIDAYS
LOCATION: MILWAUKEE, WI
Responsible for performing functions in the Linen Department which includes counting returned linens, restocking, loading, pack preparation, and deliveries according to approved procedures. Other duties as assigned.
Sorts clean linen as it is received from the laundry, and stocks the linen exchange carts and inventory shelves.
Counts linen par counts using hand held palms (bar coding), down loads and loads information into the computer.
Inspects and de-lints towels and surgical drape sheets.
Responds to requests for additional linen in a timely manner.
Marks new linen for identification purposes.
Assists in maintaining a sanitary environment within the department.
Maintains records related to established procedures by entering information into the computer and recording laundry deliveries on a daily basis.
Assists group leader with the training of new department employees, following correct procedures and competency based training programs.
Distributes linen exchange charts in accordance with customer department needs.
Assists in maintaining proper inventory levels of linen by recommending/ requisitioning linen supplies through group leader.
Initiates and assists in providing information or education to customers/patients utilizing age specific principles.
Knowledge of Linen Department techniques and computer functions.
Ability to follow instructions in the use of: Computer, hand held palms, and heat transfer machine.
Completion of two years of high school or equivalent is required.
