Engineer - Manufacturing Dubuque, IA Professional

We are seeking an experienced hands-on manufacturing engineer with a manufacturing and production background for a local manufacturing company in Dubuque, IA. We are looking for an Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer to design, develop, test and evaluate integrated systems for managing industrial production processes, quality control, inventory control, logistics and material flow, cost analysis and production coordination. This will require the ability to examine equipment, processes and operations to determine safety, quality or productivity improvements. This is a hands-on position that will require cross functional interaction with quality, maintenance and manufacturing groups. The right fit candidate will design and/or specifies equipment to satisfy manufacturing needs.
What you get to do (in a snap shot):  

Use engineering principles to provide operations support with hands on troubleshooting and process development. 
Plans and implements machine and process improvement (related to safety, quality and cost).
Conducts root-cause analysis and countermeasure implementation
Provide technical assistance to all manufacturing departments regarding the quality and/or performance of machinery, tooling, fixtures, gages, etc.
Assist in qualifying gauges and other measuring devices to be used in or on production processes.
Monitor and make recommendations regarding operational improvements on equipment, machinery, processes, etc.
Recommend and justify the most efficient use of existing production equipment. Provide new equipment justification.
Coordinate and direct the design, planning, construction, maintenance, and alteration of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities.

What we need from you:

2+ years Industrial Engineering experience
Proven experience in coordination / project management of installation, set-up, debugging, implementation, and training of new equipment and processes.
Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Technology or Industrial Engineering is desired.
Ability to use basic CAD software for design review, plant layout and tooling improvements
Good verbal and written communication skills. Must have the ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and symbols. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Strong knowledge of process flow and lean manufacturing
